Invention of the light bulb:
First constant electric light was demonstrated in 1835
Thomas Edison produced a light bulb that could last 14.5 hours in 1879
Edison improved and continued his work with the light bulb to produce a bulb that could last 1,200 hours in 1880
In 1904, European inventors created the tungsten filament, the next big improvement to the light bulb- they lasted longer and were brighter
